Bringing Some Color into 2014

New Year's is typically a time for sequins, but I truly believe that welcoming in 2014 is done best with velvet.

Pinspiration on a Sunday Evening

As the title suggests, nothing groundbreaking, just a bit of a mood board.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Finals week is upon us and my reward to myself after finishing my first exam was to post a holiday post.  I have less than 48 hours until I'm back home and in the meantime, I've got two more exams.  It really is incredible that I'm halfway done with senior year.  I feel like it's moving far too fast.  But it's to be expected, I guess.

Spotlight Fall Showcase

Last Sunday was Spotlight's Fall Showcase.  As I've probably mentioned, I was choreographer again this semester and had a blast choreographing the show this semester.  What I had the most fun choreographing, however, was Lady Gaga's "Applause".  It was just so much fun and had me tape into the more hip-hop side of my dancer self.  Needless to say, it was great.

Lion King medley costumes.

A-R-T-P-O-P.  My Applause monsters.  Romwe leggings...gotta love 'em.

This is my sixth semester in Spotlight and oftentimes this semester found me reminiscing about old semesters and the people I wouldn't have met if it weren't for Spotlight.  Ahh, senior year.

Weekends in Williamsburg

This weekend was the right amount of business.  I spent Saturday with Spotlight, flyering the campus and visiting the new bakery that opened in CW.  Today, I worked in my research lab for a few hours, then rewarded myself by visiting the 2nd Sunday Arts and Crafts fair in CW.

Here are just some pictures from the weekend:

The gorgeous sight that is early fall morning on campus.  Oh, and the Crim Dell Bridge.  Just voted one of the most romantic spots on any campus, no big deal.

Busts in the Tyler Garden.

Glass bottle artwork.

The entertainment.

An artist turning photographs into drawings.

The evening ended with a spaghetti squash pasta dinner and a warm cup of Vietnamese coffee.  :)  Few weekends are as gorgeous as this one, you've gotta take advantage of them when they come.

Do Your Own Thing

It's not a surprise that when the weather gets colder, a lot of people, myself included, tend to gravitate towards darker colors, neutrals, and of course black.  To make a statement, why not dye your hair a gorgeous and unexpected color?  Just kidding.  But I do love these photos of colored hair.  All images from my Pinterest board on Hair.

Halloween 2013

This year's Halloween was filled with firsts.  A group of friends and I finally trick-or-treated the President of The College, photo documentation and all.  As you can see, I was the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.  Fitting for the blog, don't you think?

This weekend, I also attended a party fit for autumn and the eerie holiday.  The house was on a tiny street off the highway, surrounded with complete darkness.  We had spaghetti squash, sangria, and s'mores...pardon my alliteration.

Now that the Halloween's over and the fall temperature has once again joined us, I've only got a few more semi-stressful weeks until I get to go back home.  :)

2013 Homecoming Weekend

This weekend was WM's Homecoming.  As a senior still attending The College, it wasn't so much a coming home event as it was a weekend with a nonstop schedule of events.

The highlights of the weekend would have to be Spotlight's Homecoming performance, the WM vs. JMU football game, the brilliantly amazing Freelance Whales concert, and my parents and brother making a visit.

Perfect weather and a victory against JMU was a great start to the night.  While the first half was pretty slow, I will say that it was an exciting game.

Unnecessary selfie taken before the Freelance Whales concert, an indie rock group from Brooklyn, New York.  And the best on campus concert I've been to my four years at WM.

Opener, John & Jacob.

Seeing alumni come back to The College, while heartwarming, makes us seniors remember the reality of this year.  It's time for us to decide what the hell we'll be doing come the spring.  And time to remember to make the most of senior year.
